Diantre is more like saying wow, holy smokes, oh no, and dam. It's not vulgar as like saying Diablo that would offend conservative older people or religious catholics.
Would coger monga also refer to being sluggish and/or exhausted as to having a cold?
I think Boricuas speak the most Spaniglish in The United Staes than P.R.
I wasn’t expecting to get it right but the lady in the red dress just had a lot of signs pointing to being Chilean. 😂
Callejon del beso is definitely a romantic spot for couples. The alley is narrow its unbelievable the couple from the story could just easily lean over and share a kiss.
Suerte, principiantes!
I have tried unsuccessfully to download The Spanish While You Sleep PDF. It always says download successful, but can never locate it. Need help with this.
My go to is "Tráeme un café, mujer, pronto!
Puerto Rican ruined their own Island yet Blame everyone else. Lets not forget it was Spain who colonized you. You speak and eat the language and food of your colonizers. Pick up the litter please.
Perfecto 🎉
I absolutely love dialects, languages, cultures, etc! My husband, who is Trinidadian, always gets asked what language he speaks- “English,” he replies. I am a native speaker, and although he and some of his family members were speaking to English to one another, I literally thought it was another language 😂. Of course, this was before I got to know him. In my opinion, the Trini accent is so beautiful and rhythmic … I could listen to it all day long! I definitely understand why others think Trinis speak another language.
I’ve wanted to learn to speak Spanish most of my life. I’m determined now is the time to do it.
Hi good day sir/ma'am! I'm from the Phils🇵🇭 I just want to know here in our country we have recieved 1000mexican pesos but there's no money changer converting it to our money. Maybe somebody can help us....I would appreciate your response. Thank you God bless
Thank you so much for the wonderful lesson❤!
Hello, could someone read out loud a Spanish text with Porto rican accent for me?
Puerto Rico is a 💩hole and the people are the worst. Unfortunately, I was born and raised in that hell of an island until I was able to get out. I will never go back.
Como pedir comida en español .
También. Sabemos que hay una diferencia entre lo que dice la RAE y como se usa el español en la vida real.
What part of PR is the rent $900?
We were in Boquerón.
Fantástico
En mexico el castellano es la "lingua franca"
Thank you, almost able to speak fluent Spanish now!
#4 - You meant Puerto Rico is a COLONY of the United States and #7 It's a nicer way to not call it a COLONY of the US
Yes, that too. The U.S. calls it a territory. Many people call it a colony.
@@SpanishandGo They can call it what ever they want but it does not change the fact that IT IS A COLONY and if I'm not mistaken the oldest or one of the oldest in the world owned by the ones always championing for freedom of others, now isn't that ironic? 😉
The world is full of irony and injustice. The important thing is what we do about it.
Would be good without background music
The blog post that goes along with this video has no music. spanishandgo.com/learn/how-to-order-food-in-spanish/
you sound JUST like the native speaker from my spanish pimsleur lessons.......
Best spanish? Mexican spanish by a mile, spoken in Mexico, USA, Canada and it´s the official for movies and series.
Great teaching 😅
This couple it the have kids they re going to be gorgeous
US people calling Puertoricans xenophobic. The joke tells itself lol. Are you sure you guys are from US? Before talking about stuff you don't understand you should study the history of PR related to US. The gentrification of the PR residents is happening, speciialy in the western municipalities. And yes, you guys come here because of the benefits. If not, you would still be living in the mighty USA.
Interesting perspective. We spent a significant amount of time learning about Puerto Rico’s challenging history, read “War Against All Puerto Ricans,” and did our best to share the culture and language of Puerto Rico with our audience through the videos we created while living on the island. How did you overlook that May is not from the U.S.? You surely recognize that considerable gentrification is occurring in Mexico and other countries as well-Puerto Rico is not unique in this regard. Why does anyone choose to move anywhere? It’s because they believe life will somehow be better for them, right? Puerto Ricans don’t move to the mainland thinking life will be worse for them there. We all hope to benefit from relocating somewhere new. However, we did leave the island. We wish nothing but the best for Puerto Rico, despite those who seem to take pleasure in criticizing others for moving there. We never claimed that all Puerto Ricans are xenophobic, but there is a small, vocal minority who harbor resentment towards anyone from the States. And that, by definition, is xenophobia.
I taught English in PR years ago. I asked a new student his name and I thought he answered Jamón. Being unfamiliar with PR Spanish when I arrived, I thought “Why would parents name their child HAM.” Well, that was my first intro into the PR trilled R. His name, of course, was Ramón. Whatever the accent, it’s all good. 😊
hola soy Emma
I'd rather live in Puerto Rico because the United States have too many potholes always stay in Puerto Rico I will not go any country except Puerto Rico that's the only place I will live the king of Island
Just an observation. English influence into the Spanish language is not unique to the Puerto Rican Spanish. Check how the Spanish language in Gibraltar (Known as Llanito) has been influenced by the British English.
I only got the first guy being from Mexico. I'm from Texas so it was immediately recognizable to me.
Growing vegetables is so easy. I really don’t know why people don’t just grow vegetables with a nice weather almost all year round. I’m from PR, and I grow tons of vegetables in Indiana.
Man i miss this place i grew up in mexico specifically in leon (now i live in the US) and whenever we could afford it from time to time we would go to the museum, there's a mummy of a lady there who committed suicide by hanging its sad i know just be aware of people overcharging tourists, maybe one day I'll go back and take my gf and go to kiss alley and we'll have our own Romeo Juliette story. Seriously take your wifey, girl or boyfriend whoever and share a beautiful moment.
I think you are confusing yourself with New York ricans in PR because Puerto Ricans from the island speak very good Spanish.
This video was made in Puerto Rico based on our experience living there and interacting with Puerto Ricans on the island.
Mm not sure if don't liking white people is xenofophia. There is not such thing as inverse discrimination. For the history of PR and in general latinamerica the US always fuck us up so...
I’m not sure what you mean. Xenophobia literally is the “dislike or prejudice against people from other countries.” The term “gringo” literally refers to foreigners of the island. No one from a Puerto Rican family is a gringo, so I think xenophobia is precisely the word that applies here.
Thank you for the video.
Fantastic work guys! Very well laid out
There are differences between American English, British English and Australia English
Indeed. Just as there are differences between Canadian French, Haitian French, and French French.
I literally gave up Spanish growing up because I couldn't do this (I learnt Spanish when I was 5 to when I was about 11 or so)...so now I'm revisiting this 10 years later hopefully I can master spanish!
Doesn't apply to the latest Duo lingo structure. American vocab and grammar instead of ENGLISH, drives me mad.
Yup, this is an old video.
No body: Duolingo german:i am a young bread eating egg
Isn’t Coño another common expression used in PR? Basically just another way of saying ‘Damn’ in Spanish. Kinda surprised this one wasn’t in the video.
*My family LOVES this videos, you teach us many great things in spanish, keep these videos ups!*
Thinking of a visit to scout areas for possible retirement. Heard about no fed tax on passive income and lower costs, except food costs a bit more, I assume due to being imported?
*I REALLY reccomend putting the playspeed on 0.75 when the waiter talks (he talks very fast) muchisimas gracias!*
Subscribed. Polyglot here - English MT, French (naturalised), German (university) and Arabic (university). Working on Spanish and Thai for early retirement 👍.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
